Returning to its historical calendar position at the beginning of March, JEC World has confirmed its status as the global reference event for the composite materials industry. The numbers speak for themselves, with 1,300 exhibitors and over 43,000 professional visits, representing more than a hundred different countries! The exhibition remains perfectly balanced between its business focus and its foundation in innovation.
On one hand, it closely aligns with the needs of markets and their stakeholders, as evidenced by over 8,000 business meetings. The significant return of machinery to exhibitor booths and the huge success of the « Live Demo Area » also indicate imperatives for increasing production rates and scaling up. On the other hand, it reflects the innovation buzz in the composite sector, from large corporations to startups, not forgetting the significant presence of the small and medium sized companies. With over 600 new product launches, JEC World remains the top choice for professionals to share their highlights and major innovations.
While the growth promises of the composites market, the dynamism of its companies and their capacity to innovate are evident, the whole industry also has to tackle the very stimulating but complex challenge of sustainable development. Airbus Helicopters’ Racer is off to a flying start
Airbus Helicopters’ Racer demonstrator, developed in the frame of the European Research Clean Sky 2 project, has performed its first flight, in Marignane. The aircraft flew for about 30 minutes, allowing the flight test team to check the overall behavior of the aircraft.

Hyundai and Toray sign a strategic partnership on advanced materials
Hyundai Motor Group and Toray Group have entered into a partnership to develop materials that promote vehicle lightweighting. Parts made of CFPR (carbon fiber reinforced polymer) are also favored for the engines and batteries of 100% electric cars (BEV).
