Aerospace logistics: Daher strengthens its partnership with Safran
Daher has announced that it has secured two new logistics contracts with Safran: the management of a warehouse for Safran Nacelles in Hamburg, Germany, and the creation of a dedicated platform for MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) activities for the customer support division of Safran Electronics & Defense in the Île-de-France region in France.
Safran has chosen its long-standing partner Daher for two projects relating to aerospace logistics. Firstly, Safran Nacelles has entrusted Daher with logistics tasks for the integration of engine nacelles near the final assembly site for the Airbus A320neo passenger aircraft in Hamburg, Germany. Daher will provide a team of 20 staff on site. This new production logistics activity strengthens Daher’s overall offering, complementing the transport services already provided by Daher Logistics. This new contract consolidates Daher’s presence in Germany, where the group already has 1,100 logistics staff working for Airbus Defence & Space and Alstom.
Besides, following a call for tenders launched in March 2025, Safran Electronics & Defense’s Customer Service division has awarded Daher a new contract for the creation of a dedicated platform for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) activities and air-on-ground (AOG) support in Tremblay-en-France, in the Île-de-France region in France. This three-year contract, with an option to extend for a further two years, includes AOG management with an on-call service (maximum response time of 3.5 hours) as well as the deployment of Daher’s warehouse management system for traceability and real-time operational control. The new 3,000 m² logistics platform will handle over 3,000 shipments, as well as 1,700 incoming deliveries and 7,500 picking lines per year. This contract also marks a significant milestone in the development of Daher’s AOG Desk offering, which enables a rapid response to airlines’ spare parts requirements.
Implementation of these two new contracts is expected to begin in April 2026.
High demand for spare parts logistics
“Safran is a strategic partner for the Daher Group,” explained Aymeric Daher, Deputy CEO of Daher, and the CEO of Daher Logistics. “We have been working together for many years with Safran Helicopter Engines, and these new projects with Safran Nacelles and Safran Electronics & Defense mark an important milestone. We are now involved in both industrial operations and spare parts flows in France and Germany. This is the result of teamwork and a shared commitment to move forward together.”
As the global fleet of aircraft in service continues to grow, the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) market in the aviation sector – currently estimated to be worth over $90 billion (€76.95 billion) and expected to exceed $150 billion (€128.24 billion) by 2035 – is driving demand for spare parts logistics.
