Ilium Composites appoints new business development manager

José María will play a key role within Ilium Composites, identifying and developing new business opportunities, enhancing customer relationships and supporting the launch of innovative products. Based in Europe, he will report directly to Managing Director Luma Aljishi. José María, who has over 25 years of experience in the polymer and composite materials industries, brings a combination of technical expertise, commercial acumen and international experience to Ilium. He has held senior roles in R&D, technical sales, business development and project management at leading companies including Fiberline Composites, Owens Corning and DSM.

José María holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona, a B.Sc. in Business from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and a Master’s degree in Paint Technology. His fluency in English, Spanish and Catalan, as well as his working proficiency in Dutch and French will enable him to support Ilium’s international client base. He has a strong technical background in composites technologies, particularly resin infusion, pultrusion and reinforcement manufacturing, as well as a strong commercial orientation, which will certainly help him to support Ilium’s expansion plans. He has achieved outstanding results throughout his career, whether driving significant sales growth, developing and implementing structured business strategies, managing complex customer relationships or leading cross-functional teams.
