Wassima El Moutaouakil takes the helm at Safran Nacelles Morocco
Safran Nacelles has announced the appointment of Wassima El Moutaouakil as president of its Moroccan subsidiary. This strategic appointment is in line with the group’s industrial strategy, whilst highlighting a key site within Morocco’s aerospace ecosystem.
Safran Nacelles has announced, in a LinkedIn post, the appointment of Wassima El Moutaouakil as president of Safran Nacelles Morocco, where she succeeds Jean-François Belliard. Having been with the group since 2010, she has built a career firmly rooted in industrial operations, holding roles in quality assurance and then production.
After leading several strategic initiatives at the Casablanca site, she took charge in 2025 of all industrial operations, including production, maintenance and the supply chain. This hands-on operational background is a major asset in addressing the site’s performance and ramp-up challenges.
Her appointment also marks a symbolic milestone: she becomes the first woman to hold this position at Safran Nacelles Morocco, illustrating the changing landscape of leadership roles in the aerospace industry.
A strategic site at the heart of Morocco’s aerospace industry
Based in Nouasseur, near Casablanca, Safran Nacelles Morocco has established itself as one of the country’s leading aerospace manufacturing sites. As part of Safran’s global network, it plays a key role in the production of nacelle components – the complex structures that house aircraft engines. The company invested over €350 million in the site in October 2025.
The site specialises in the manufacture of composite parts, as well as in assembly and maintenance operations. It contributes directly to the group’s international aerospace programmes, in line with a focus on industrial performance and global competitiveness.
Against a backdrop of strong growth in the aerospace sector in Morocco, this site represents a strategic asset, both for Safran and for the local ecosystem, in terms of skilled employment, skills transfer and integration into global value chains.
