This flight verification test is achieved by the joint efforts of multiple professional expertise such as ceramic matrix composite rotor structure design, strength analysis, manufacturing process, coating preparation, flight control and complete machine test, according to the China Aviation Engine Research Institute.

In the preliminary research and preparation process, the team members actively discussed, continuously innovated, and took the initiative to overcome the technical difficulties in strength design, process preparation, coating preparation, ground test, flight control, etc. The fracture speed test, low-cycle fatigue test and ground bench test of the base composite blisk have eliminated potential risk points in the flight test one by one, effectively ensuring the completion of the preliminary flight demonstration verification test.

The successful completion of the test fully proved the feasibility of the application of the ceramic composite turbine rotor structure in aero-engines, and accumulated valuable data for the subsequent development ceramic composite components.
