China’s Avic Aviation to launch a composite components construction project

AVIC Aviation High-Technology (AVIC Aviation), one of China’s leading suppliers of aviation materials, a a subsidiary of the state-owned aerospace conglomerate Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), plans to invest CNY 918 million (€ 112 million and US$ 127.841 million) in a new factory in Beijing focused on developing and producing large structural composite components for civil aircraft.

The project will be funded and developed by AvicComposite, a subsidiary of Avic Aviation. The project will add 12 sets of process equipment such as automatic placement systems, a new plant and its supporting outdoor projects and off-site projects, and a new building area of ​​57,000 m2.

The project construction site is Shunyi District, Beijing, China, and the construction period is 36 months. The project is planned to last 18 years, including a construction period of 3 years and an operation period of 15 years. Construction of the facility is expected to begin later this year, with the plant projected to reach full production capacity by 2028.

According to Avic, the project will reinforce the company’s leadership in China’s aviation composites market and better serve the needs of large aircraft component manufacturers. The company also sees the expansion as a significant step towards becoming a world-class supplier of civil aircraft parts.
