This book is a practical language manual which aims to help professionals working in the composite segment.
The Brazilian author and Engineer Gilmar Lima, has over 35 years of experience in the engineering plastics segment, including composites reinforced with fiberglass, aramid and carbon. He was an executive of large Brazilian companies, such as Taurus, Hidroplas and MarcoPolo-MVC, always focused on innovation and development of solutions in Engineering Plastics and Composites. For 11 years he was President of the Latin American Composite Materials Association (ALMACO).
He is currently a founding partner of G12 Innovation, a company specializing in solutions development, market and value management. The creation of this manual aims to provide a broad view, but at the same time simple and practical of composite materials, mainly for professionals who are starting in this segment. The author’s priority was to transmit a language known to the Composite Processing Industry, including some names were created and “baptized” on the factory floor.
Another objective of this manual is to explain the “what is” and “the why” of choosing materials, processes, products and applications. Composites A to Z connects and shares knowledge from years of experience of a mechanical engineer, passionate about composite materials.
