Fesher, AVIC subsidiary, delivers the first C919 winglets and spoilers
The first C919 winglets and spoilers developed by Fesher Aviation Components (Zhenjiang) Co., Ltd. (Fesher), a subsidiary of AVIC Cabin, were officially delivered to COMAC. This marks that Fesher has fully started to provide product support and services for the C919 domestically produced large passenger aircraft, and also marks the first stage of the transfer of the C919 work package from the Austrian manufacturer of aircraft components and systems FACC to Fesher.
Leaders and representatives from AVIC Cabin, FACC, COMAC and its affiliated composite materials centre, Shanghai Aircraft Company, Zhenjiang Economic Development Zone, Aerospace Industrial Park, Zhenjiang High-tech Investment and Fesher company attended the delivery event.
The C919 winglets and spoilers are the first C919 structural parts work package undertaken by Fesher. The transfer of production and manufacturing from FACC to Fesher was launched in November 2023. In March 2024, tooling and the materials arrived at Fesher. After that, Fesher and FACC worked together to complete the pre-production qualification (PPV) and the first product development in only 5 months.
According to AVIC Cabin, it is the first international cooperation in design, development and mass production delivery in China. Fesher, FACC and COMAC established a joint working team to clarify a common goal and formulate a project plan. At the same time, Fesher began working on strengthening production capabilities, which will provide a strong guarantee for the full increase in production of the C919 aircraft.
