Harbin FRP Institute contributed to the launch of Tianzhou 2
Harbin FRP Institute participated in the development of the main bearing structure of the propulsion module sub-system of the cargo spacecraft.
Tianzhou 2 cargo spacecraft, a part of the construction of China’s Tiangong space station, is the first cargo resupply mission to the already launched Tianhe core module.
Tianzhou 2 carried astronauts’ living supplies, extra-vehicular space suits and space station platform equipment, application loads and propellants, etc. After completing docking with the Tianhe core module, it switched to the assembly flight phase and carried out as planned testing of the propellants and of the space station application projects equipment.
In this launch mission, Harbin FRP Institute participated in the development of the main bearing structure of the propulsion module sub-system of the cargo spacecraft. The result is a lightweight high-performance advanced composite material structure with a large load-bearing capacity. The scientific research team of the Northeast China’s Harbin FRP Institute solved high precision technical problems and delivered on time to ensure the launch of the Tianzhou 2 cargo spacecraft.
