As industries undergo ecological, industrial, and digital transitions, COMPOLIS emerges as an innovative and multidisciplinary response. This initiative aims to bring together industrial partners around key challenges such as decarbonization through lightweight structures, composite functionalization via embedded sensors, infrastructure monitoring and material recycling.

An integrated approach at the crossroads of materials, structures and data

COMPOLIS is built on a unique expertise, combining several essential disciplines:

  • Advanced Materials: Polymeric, composite, metallic and hybrid materials, with a focus on material functionalization, circular economy, and end-of-life valorization.
  • Optimized and Connected Structures: Design, sizing, multi-scale and multi-physics numerical modeling, manufacturing – sensor integration and validation testing up to full scale.
  • Non-Destructive Testing and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM): Embedded sensors, printed electronics, internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), predictive maintenance, and digital twins.

By combining multi-scale and multi-physics modeling, COMPOLIS ensures a seamless transition from research to industrial applications..

An innovative programme to discover at JEC World 2025

At JEC World 2025, the leading international composites show, COMPOLIS will be officially launched and presented to industrial partners. This event will be an opportunity to meet IMT Nord Europe’s experts leading the initiative and to discover:

• The objectives and services offered by COMPOLIS, to the benefit of industrial partners (technology survey, training, engineering, R&D, prototyping, etc.).

• Ongoing projects and developments, including instrumentation and monitoring of additive manufacturing, and of hydrogen storage and transport pressure vessels, etc.

An industrial network open to industrial collaborations

COMPOLIS aims to build a network of engaged stakeholders to shape the industry of the future together. IMT Nord Europe and its partners are inviting companies, research and technical centers, and interested institutions to join this initiative and co-develop solutions tailored to industrial challenges.
