Microtex Composites moves to a new, larger venue
From September 2021, the Becagli group, specialized in the production of carbon fiber composites, is leaving the historic site of Prato to the new headquarters in Pistoia.
The new area covers more than 8,000 square meters where offices and production department with 4 production lines, weaving department and a large cold room for the storage of prepregs (pre-impregnated reinforcements), will find their place.
The new cold room will be one of the largest in Europe, storing approximately 180,000 square meters of materials that, to preserve their original characteristics and extend their life, need a temperature of -18 °C.
“The company is going through a period of strong growth and the current production site in Prato was no longer suitable for the size reached. The investment made allows us to be increasingly competitive and able to respond to the needs of the market and our customers. The new cold store responds precisely to this need: to be able to supply our customers quickly by increasing our storage capacity. “

About Microtex Composites:
Microtex Composites is a company belonging to the historical Becagli group that has specialized in the textile production since the end of the second world war. Nowadays the group consists of two companies: the original company dedicated to the production of traditional fabrics and Microtex Composites S.r.l. specialized in the manufacture of advanced composites, both dry and prepreg with different kind of resins (depending on the desired performance). The company currently employs about 60 people and last year saw the numbers grow both in terms of staff and turnover.
