SHARP Composites has moved to a new facility
SHARP Composites has moved to a new facility. With luminous offices and 500 m2 of workshop, there is plenty of space to work on bright ideas creating innovative composites.
With excellent high-way connections, the location in Herk-de-Stad, Belgium, is easy to reach from the neighbouring countries, just 40 min from Brussels international airport.
The State-of-the-Art Equipment includes two winding machines with electronic tensioners and data acquisition allowing the finest process control. First projects involve process optimization and benchmarking of the latest grades of fibres and resins. Targeted markets are aerospace and sustainable mobility applications.
Axel Seifert, Managing Director, comments: “Driven by large industries like automotive, aerospace and wind energy, we have seen a spectacular increase of the demand for carbon fibre. Yet, a significant effort is required to improve the sustainability of these high-performance materials. In this context, SHARP Composites is committed to explore the possibilities of newly developed composites with a smaller CO2 footprint and better strategies for recycling, without compromise regarding efficiency and functionality.”
