STRUCTeam gains Chinese wind blade design contracts and launches Chinese language web site

The company has gained two individual contracts for the design and structural engineering of large composite wind turbine blades for clients based in China. Both projects are for blades in the region of 50m in length and are intended to be used for multi-megawatt sized generators.  The blades will be subjected to third party certification and are anticipated to be in production in the first half of 2012.

Julien Sellier, Engineering Director of STRUCTeam, commenting on the gaining of the contracts said “We are naturally delighted to win these two contracts in the strategically important Chinese wind energy market. We have made significant investments both in the design tools that allow us to undertake this type of design and engineering work, as well as building a high level of expertise within our Engineering and IT teams.

An important contributory factor in gaining these contracts has been spending a significant amount of time on the ground in China building relationships and informing the market about STRUCTeam’s capabilities. To this end we also announce today the launch of STRUCTeam’s web site in Mandarin – available to view at www.structeam-ltd.com”.

As unveiled on the 8th of November 2011.
