Toray Advanced Composites to feature latest advances in composite material technology during JEC World 2023

Toray’s global team will be in Paris to discuss how innovations across the company’s comprehensive range of thermoset and TenCate Cetex® thermoplastic-based composite material technologies enable the advancement of future and existing mobility applications across aerospace, space, consumer, and high-performance industrial markets.

Applications of Toray’s material on display include a spoiler panel from the Airbus Wing of Tomorrow program, manufactured by FACC using Toray Cetex® TC1225 LMPAEK thermoplastic uni-directional tape and woven fabrics featuring integrated lightning strike protection. Also on display is a linerless Liquid Oxygen (LOX) tank for the HyImpulse space launch vehicle, manufactured by Adamant Composites using Toray thermoset uni-directional composite materials.

Toray will also present its range of AmberTool® composite tooling prepregs, established as the industry leader for high-quality and durable composite tooling. Their heritage HX56 and HX42 systems recently launched a heavyweight 990gsm reinforcement, allowing efficient and cost-effective manufacture of carbon composite tools whilst maintaining high-quality surface finish and durability for both aerospace and high-performance automotive needs.
