A new slitting line will become operational in May 2026 in Nantes, expanding the site’s ability to supply high-quality slit thermoset tapes for advanced aerospace manufacturing. The added capacity strengthens Web Industries’ ability to meet growing demand and support high-rate production for major European aerospace programs.

The new line follows the established production approach and quality expectations in place at the Nantes site, ensuring consistent performance and controlled processes required for aerospace applications.

Nantes serves as Web Industries’ European platform for preparing thermoset and thermoplastic composite materials, including cutting, kitting, and slitting services that support current and next-generation aerospace and space programs.

John Madej, president & CEO of Web Industries, said: “This investment strengthens our ability to support European series production with the reliability and proximity today’s aerospace supply chain requires.”

Pascal Franchet, Nantes plant manager, added: “Increasing our capacity positions us to meet growing volumes while maintaining the precision and control that define our operations.”

This investment reflects Web Industries’ strategy to reinforce its European footprint and support aerospace customers’ goals for competitiveness, innovation, and sustainability.

A strategic expansion in Texas

Designed to process flexible and composite materials requiring precision laser cutting – the new equipment in Denton significantly increases productivity and throughput. It enhances Web Industries’ ability to serve fast-paced and high-demanding markets with Tier-1 quality for consumer goods, technical textiles, aeronautics and space, and other high-precision industries.

“This investment is a pivotal step in our innovation strategy. With next-generation laser technology, we are expanding the boundaries of advanced material formatting to deliver precision-engineered solutions at scale for mission-critical and high-performance customer programmes,” saidJohn Madej.

The enhanced capabilities of the next-generation laser technology features optimal repeatability for complex geometries, increased capacity for high-volume manufacturing, reduced waste and accelerated production cycles and improved productivity.

“This addition gives our operations a significant boost, strengthening our ability to deliver precision-formatted geometries while supporting large-scale serial production and meeting the stringent requirements of advanced automated processes. This investment reinforces our commitment to providing our customers with faster lead times, unwavering quality, and greater production flexibility,” said Mackenzie Millick, Denton plant manager.

This upgrade supports the ongoing development of Web Industries, Denton facility, reinforcing its role as a key platform for advanced material formatting and supports demanding customers challenging.
