JEC World is approaching, and it’s worth noting that the event is returning to its original schedule, marking a significant milestone since the onset of the health crisis and its lingering impact. A symbolic move, and while we have come back from the illusion of a saving « New Normal », it’s reassuring to see that certain crises, which heavily impeded activities, are fading.
We’re coming up to the last lap before the opening of JEC World and we’re delighted to share the preview of the event with you.
A preview like a condensed version of an abundant source that foreshadows the upcoming growth of the composites market. A source in full effervescence from which streams of innovations emerge. From the chrysalises of the Startup Booster to the butterflies of the Innovation Awards.
These innovations also serve as a driver of economic growth, and it is worth noting that the composites market has doubled over the past twenty years. Beyond the exceptional phenomenon of the Covid crisis, the composites industry is experiencing steady expansion, and it has resumed its forward march in 2023.
The composites industry is also embracing the pressing new horizon of sustainability. On this front, things are accelerating rapidly, and the invention, or more precisely, the discovery of balanced circularity, is not simple. The topic is on everyone’s lips, in all project specifications, and there is no doubt that it will be one of the mottos of JEC World 2024… and the following editions!

JEC Composites Innovation Awards 2024: here are the 11 winners
Annually, the JEC Composites Innovation Awards recognize successful initiatives and collaborative efforts within the composites industry. Over the past 26 years, the program has engaged over 2,000 companies globally, honoring 225 companies and 573 partners for their outstanding achievements in composites innovation and effective partnerships. Criteria for the awards include partner involvement in the value chain, project complexity, and commercial potential.

JEC Composites Startup Booster 2024: the twenty finalists revealed
In just seven years, JEC Startup Booster has established itself as a global reference for entrepreneurship in the composites industry. Over a hundred entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups, and university spin-offs submitted their applications, with 20 selected as finalists. From March 5 to 7, these finalists will have the opportunity to present their projects before an expert jury on the JEC World stage. The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, March 6, at 3:30 PM in Agora 6.

Thermwood LSAM additive printer 510 live printing at JEC World 2024
Thermwood will be LIVE printing an autoclave capable tool for composite layup of an airplane engine air inlet duct on an LSAM Additive Printer 510 in the LIVE Demo Area located in Hall 6 at JEC World 2024 in Paris, France on March 5th-7th. They will print a new tool each day with material from a different material supplier (Sabic LNP™ Thermocomp™ AM EC004EXAR1, Airtech Dahltram I-350CF, and Techmer PM PESU-1810). In addition to LIVE printing throughout the day, they will also present an interactive demonstration once per day that will allow participants to see a real-world application of creating high-temp tooling with an LSAM system.

The ceremony took place on February 2nd in Paris, honoured by the presence of jury members, winners and partners.
