In a world subject to profound changes and surrounded by numerous geopolitical and therefore economic uncertainties, the Pythias have free rein to promise the worst. It’s a habit, an ease, that we can document since Antiquity, by the way. From then on, a step back is necessary. If we refer to the International Monetary Fund, real GDP growth in the world was 3.2% in 2024 and it is important to emphasise that all major regions of the world have an upward trend, even if heterogeneities naturally exist. In the latest IMF report updated at the end of January 2025, analysts expect global growth of around 3.3% in 2025 and again more than 3% in 2026.
Another indicator, certainly less scientific, deserves to be taken into account. The 2025 edition of the World Economic Forum was held from January 20 to 24 in Davos and on this occasion, PWC, as usual, unveiled its annual study “Global CEO Survey”, a barometer of morale and expectations of CEOs. It appears that 58% of the managers surveyed are optimistic about the evolution of the global economy in the next 12 months.
In short, once these corrective lenses are put on, it appears that the bed of thorns that some like to predict is based on a layer of worry more than on robust indicators. You understand where I’m going with this, JEC World opens under favourable auspices. From the bed of thorns to the red carpet, there is only one step to take, happily because the show is celebrating its 60th anniversary!

This growing movement concerns all major markets, Asia, North America, but also Europe. Toray presents next-generation composite technologies at JEC World 2025
Toray Industries, a global leader in advanced carbon fibres, announced that 5 of its group companies will be exhibiting at this year’s JEC World 2025, taking place in Paris from 4-6 March. In addition to Toray Industries, Inc., European subsidiaries Toray Carbon Fibers Europe (carbon fibres and intermediates), Toray Advanced Composites (prepregs), Composite Materials Italy (fabrics and prepregs) and Delta Preg (prepregs) will also be represented. Additionally, Zoltek, another Toray Group company, will be showcasing its expertise in large-tow carbon fibres and oxidised fibres in Hall 5/H21.
JEC Composites Startup Booster 2025: the 20 finalists revealed
In just 8 years, JEC Composites Startup Booster has established itself as a global reference for entrepreneurship in the composites industry. Over a hundred entrepreneurs, startups and university spin-offs submitted their applications, with 20 selected as finalists. From March 4 to 6, these finalists will have the opportunity to present their projects before an expert jury on the JEC World stage.
